Sometimes it's just easier picking up a cookbook to try something new & tasty!
Tastemade's new book, "Make this Tonight - Recipes To Get Dinner On The Table ", features 100 delectable recipes. The cook book contains some asian favorites like Khai Jiao Thai Omelet (as featured), Kimchi Pancakes, Korean Beef Bulgogi, Soy-Braised Chicken Drumsticks and even Super Garlic Kimchi; all of which I'm totally making soon.
I made this Thai -style omelet from the book. It's super soft with fluffy layers of scrambled-like eggs . It has nice crispy golden edges and packs in some umami yumminess from the little hit of fish sauce that was beaten into the eggs .

Trung Chien- Vietnamese Flat Egg Quiche/Pancake
Seeing family in Seattle this past weekend- I’m reminded of my some of my family’s simple dinners that sometimes only included this egg dish, rice and a clear soup. Even with all the tasty big restaurant meals here, nothing beats a homemade meal that can provoke precious childhood memories and family gatherings. ❤️
Quick Vietnamese Sizzling Green Beans With Soy Sauce & Garlic
These savory and tasty green beans were super easy to make with just a few pantry staples from your kitchen!I just quickly blanched some fresh green beans, ice dunked them, then tossed them in little sesame oil, garnished them with Thai red chili peppers (I ordered these online at @umamicart), toasted sesame seeds, and minced garlic and then dressed it with some light soy sauce. For the finishing touch- I drizzled some smoking tea seed oil for that HOT SIZZLE!

Trung Chien- Vietnamese Steamed Eggs / Egg Quiche With Shrimp and Veggies
Trung Chien- A Vietnamese inspired omelette/egg pie. My dad used to make many different variations of this, sometimes with shrimp and sometimes with tofu but always with some fresh garden veggies like scallions, bell peppers, and onions.
It's a simple dish, almost like an egg quiche if I had to compare it with anything but made with vermicelli noodles and some Vietnamese ingredients like dried wood ear mushrooms, fish sauce, and shallots.
Stir Fried Sweet Potato Leaves-Rau Khoai Lang Recipe (+ CSA info)
Why didn’t I know about this leaf sooner? It’s so delicious and full of all the good stuff! These delicious spinach like leaves are known in asian cultures as the “queen of vegetables” and the “longevity vegetable” and are touted to be anti-cancer greens.
I received this along with a bunch of other asian herbs, vegetables, and greens as part of my CSA share that I posted the other day.

Do you like Chinese style sweet and sour chicken? Well this recipe is sure to please and replaces the chicken with a plant based substitute, golden oyster mushrooms!
These mushrooms are dredged in a flour/egg batter and then deep fried to perfection for that extra crispy crunch. The wet batter creates a nice doughy crust that makes it more fluffy while the chewiness of the oyster mushrooms gives you that mock chicken texture!
