I can’t believe Thanksgiving is just a couple days away and we’re going to be celebrating it Friendsgiving style with a few of our closest friends! With the help with YouYou this year we’ll be doing a few things with an asian spin, because why not?

Crispy Air Fried Balsamic & Soy Sauced Brussel Sprouts

These bad boys only take less than 30 min total from prep time to final cooking.

Brussels sprouts are quite possibly the easiest vegetable cook in your air fryer. The leaves blister and get super crispy and brittle with super moist insides and packed with flavor!

Also on the menu this year are my dad’s garlic green beans, roasted garlic soy sauced asparagus, broccoli rabe, garlic mashed potatoes, and a hearty watercress salad with a sesame dressing.

Anyone else doing any asian style dishes for Thanksgiving? If so, what are you making? Looking for other ideas :)

Ingredients:

  • ~20 Brussel Sprouts (remove any dirty or bad outer leaves, and cut in half)

  • 1-2 tbs light soy sauce

  • Neutral oil (I used Tea Seed oil but Light EVOO or any neutral oil will work).

  • Sea salt

  • Splash of balsamic vinegar

  • Fresh grounded black pepper to taste

  • 1 lime quartered

Preparation:

  1. Remove outer leaves and cut brussel sprouts in half.

  2. Blanch brussel sprouts in boiling water for about a minute and half to two minutes and then drain completely.

  3. Transfer to large bowl and toss with a little oil and lightly salt in a bowl, and transfer to your air fryer and set for 400 degrees. Do not over pack them in air fryer (I made these in 2 batches)

  4. Cook for about 10-15 min and shake every 5-7 min.

  5. When the outer leaves are nice and crispy brown, transfer back to bowl and toss with a little black pepper, soy sauce (start off with about 1 tbs) and a touch of balsamic vinegar to taste.

  6. Garnish with a little fresh lime juice and serve hot.
