Vegetarian Kimchi & Tofu Egg Rolls + Homemade Sweet & Sour Sauce
These are not traditional egg rolls but a fun way to make a veg friendly fried appetizer. I got the idea from having left over kimchi/tofu dumpling batter which I later added some extra fillings typical with vegetarian egg rolls like cabbage to make these egg rolls.
Tofu “tonkatsu”- Recipe
I’ve been eating and testing a lot of recipes lately so I’m going to adopt Meatless Monday’s to dedicate to vegetarian and/or vegan meals! Are you a team “tonkatsu” or chicken “katsu”? I used to love ordering this at Japanese restaurants all the time but this time I wanted to make something similar but with tofu!
Extra Crispy Vietnamese Fish Sauce Chicken Wings- "Ga Chien Nuoc Mam" Air Fryer Recipe
These crispy air fried Vietnamese fish sauce chicken wings are savory and finger licking good! Nom Nom Nom…
If anyone knows me, I hate soggy wings, rather I like my wings crispy and dipped into a sauce. I adapted my parents recipe to be a more of a dry oil rub served with a fish dipping sauce. Typically the dry rub is just dry ingredients, then it’s tossed in a honey/fish sauce glaze but today I’m cutting the sweetness and opting for something a little saltier and savory.
“Banh Cam”- Vietnamese Sesame Balls
Bánh cam or bánh rán in Vietnamese is one of the most famous and beloved Vietnamese desserts.
This Tet/New Year’s special is definitely on the richer side being that it is deep fried. The outer shell is comprised of a glutinous rice wrapped with sesame seeds which makes it crispy and chewy and the inside is deliciously moist filled with sweet mung beans & coconut flakes.
Crab Rangoon- Crab & Cheese filled Wontons
Menu favorite, Crab Rangoon, originated on the menu of a "Polynesian-style" restaurant in the 1950’s in San Francisco and is allegedly derived from an original Burmese recipe.
Crab Rangoon are fried wonton wrappers filled with cream cheese, crab (real or imitation), scallions and are often served with a sweet and sour sauce.
